Aims of the seminar :
- to discuss what environment suits young learners best
- to give ideas for classroom activities that develop language skills
- to help teachers understand what is being tested

Demotivated children? What can do the trick?
The first year of learning English is usually fun because it offers many rewards. There are easy things to learn and fun ways of presenting material. However, as the level and the difficulty of the tasks increase children are more likely to lose their zeal for learning. What is the solution? Decrease the challenge? Surely not! There must be other ways the children can be motivated and shown how much they have learned - why not try YLE tests? A good diploma can do the trick!

Alina Mazurkiewicz is the Centre Exams Manager at English Unlimited, an authorised Cambridge ESOL Examination Centre in the Pomorskie region.

The seminar will concentrate on activities and ideas which will help students achieve the ability to communicate in English and do well in the Cambridge YLE Tests.

Dorota Łoś (Sapiejewska) has been cooperating with Pearson Education Polska for many years. She is a Teacher Trainer and co-author of the SKY coursebooks and materials for a PEP manual.  Previously also a PEP representative and Teacher at Teacher Training College.
